Syawal 2014
We celebrated Syawal this year in a very low key manner, since the hols allocated for hub is only for two days, and with what happening in Gaza, let it be something we must always remember - some people in the other side of this world may not able to be with their loved ones anymore. xleh nak happy happy sangat.
Yeah, i almost forget to mention that this raya is a little bit special. Someone, finally requested to have a pair of baju melayu, with sampin and songkok (well that head cap part almost there to accomplished but not enough time to buy). You see, I have some hesitation to buy a guy his baju melayu, since the first time buying for someone else years before was quite a nostalgic thing to me until now. argh, never mind, I dont want to be too sentimental this time, as long as my gift of baju melayu is well received and perfectly fit for my hub, that really matters, ahahhahahah. So with the help of my brother to wear the sampin nicely, it was a good time for NK's first attempt to beraya ala lelaki melayu.
Later after photo sessions, we went back to Selandar and Kemendor for some visit to relative's houses. Melaka can be so hot during this time and because of the homestay house's aircon broke down, me and hub secretly made our escape to check in somewhere for resting. Jahat tak? Then on raya first night we had barbeque session of roasted lamb, lagilah bahang terasa ye tak. slowly we made our way to the hotel without telling everyone (too much heat in the house and with my delicate condition i could not sleep). The next day when we came back, my mum made some remark,
" Ingat malam tadi dah terberanak, mungkin dah masuk hospital, tak balik balik"
Sorry mum, anyhow nice bihun sup you made for the second raya breakfast LOL.
During this raya, I noticed that my family is growing bigger. My sister in law is a pregger of two months, officially and soon another addition to this family from my side. There will be need to have bigger space of gathering, so coaxing mum and my step dad to build their dream house in Selandar as soon as possible is a must do then. Yeah, it is quite tedious arranging separate sleeping place for everyone but somehow we managed.
How time really flies. Till then, hope to see this people again, sometime sooner.
Anyhow, as usual, we went back to Melaka to visit mum and siblings. All of them were there to celebrate the first and second Raya in Ayer Keroh then some of my brothers would go back to inlaw house with the wives and the kids. two days are just enough.
As usual, my mum ketupat and rendang would be the first morning breakfast which she has prepared the night before. Sorry mak, I could not help much since two sisters in law were around ahahhahah, and the kitchen is too small to fit me inside (too big with kid inside already) hahahahahah.
