Album Review : Paramore (Self titled)

Cepat betul post.

I just discovered this album after it is released earlier this year. Haiya, sangat dah tak up to date. Konsert pun dah tak pegi.

Anyhow, lets see how this album score.

Verdict? Best. Serious.

Compared to previous Brand New Eyes, this self titled album is a  bit commercial  and not so angsty. Lagu banyak variety. very experimental and risky effort, however it turns out to be really nice. really nice.

I can say the group is now moving into a good direction. While capturing the new crowd/fans which is so synch-pop tune followers  (justin, selena, nikki minaj stuff), it retains one or more track for the heavier kind, punk, progressive, indie rock material, semua ada. very smart.

I would rather have Hailey (vocal) to experiment whatever she wants with the remaining fellow band mates unlike some band vocallist will do one or two solo album, suddenly on their own for tours, then colloborate again with the group and then berkubur macam tu.

Contoh terbaik - Gwen ( No Doubt) . Ahhahaha.  Hope Hailey wont make suicidal move of being solo. Buat singles tak pa.

Anyhow these tracks are worth to keep. U will be surprised to see it comes from Paramore but still appealing to those not into usual Paramore material :-

1. Hate to See Your Heart Break

You can listen to this track on some rainy days in the lounge or cafe, or some driving time, petang petang sikit balik opis, sambil mengelamun. I say this so Carpenter-rish.

2. Grow up

Preachy but light mannered. Yang ni boleh ditujukan kepada kenkawan, suami, kekasih, rakan pejabat secara indirectly. 


3. Last Hope
My favourite. It is so nicely arranged. Recommend when you feel so down, listening to this makes you better.Uplifting.

4. Future
This track give exact amount of thrill like you found in Misguided Ghost  (Brand New Eyes). Serious, the final part itu yang best. Accoustic for the intro, middle part slowly into heavy metal stuff. The final track of this album.

Other songs worth listening, STill iNto You (current hit), Anklebiters, Fast in My Car.

OVerAll, I give 9/10 for this album.
