Kenduri Blues
Being Malaysian, attending a kenduri kahwin (a malay wedding reception) can bring many good or bad experience for singletons, I assume?
Whether it's done in humble reception in kampung or town area, sitting with a group of strangers during the meal was not that encouraging.
hahahaah. like it or hate it when people started to ask me and tried to be polite,
"datang sebelah mana ni?"
"lar, anak ker yang dok sebelah. Ingat anak dara lagi?" ---> One time, I was almost tercekik getting this kind of remark. totally unbelievable.
"Bila u punya turn lagi?" ----> this one is too much. we come to see the couple's joy, not to get jodoh lar!
But the most hilarious wedding reception I ever been was this friend of mine.
As we eagerly made our way to the table (where all the tagging done nicely) those ushers came to us asking in graceful manner, "You J*A ker *P*?"
My other blunt, sarcastic partner made a cynical comment after we were seated.
"Apsal tak tanya, KPKT ker KEKWA, MOE ker JPM ker", Imagine if the tables are tagged with the ministries name and the dress code is batik?
Ahahahah. Then we really need to go back due to the fact it was almost reaching 11 p.m.
"Hey, apasal kawan kawan dia ni lepas makan nak cepat-cepat blah. Ingat kenduri kat kampung ker?"
A relative of the family commented as we made our exit.
Well, having the meal at 10.00 pm with empty stomach was not a good idea, so we ended up with McD takeaway after that.
Stomach growls louder this time.
