Blessing
I have to admit that kindness does really matters.
It moves people around, and because of that it does also save an unborn child too.
Recently, a colleague of mine decided to keep her baby after eight months of having it, and because of that, she gave a late notice of maternity leave needed in just a month from now. She is a mother- to-be by her own choice, where she is not married to the baby's father and decided not do that if possible, due to other complications as told previously.
Since she was one of the "outcast", where boss would not really keen to work with these people due to his own reason and preferences, she was given a week to wait for the result of whether she can have the leave or say goodbye to the company, as a result of her non adherence to the office rules. This news was quitely spreaded around, and i was really hoping that boss would just consider her leave and let her stay to work in this company.
The one week period was tough for us here.
We kept predicting that she would be terminated. It was obvious from the boss reaction, as he already had the chance to get rid of this lady , after he have been complaining for a long time ago.
Only by this morning, I was informed by a superior that she would be granted with the leave and a new receptionist will be replacing her temporarily. It was a blessing in disguise indeed, since i have been worrying of the baby if the mother to be terminated. She has no money allocated for that baby even for the hospital charges, at all.
Well, a worth lesson learnt from this story. Never judge someone by simply looking at his or her exterior look and behaviour. Empathy lies in everyone of us, big and small, it does not matter. It need to be there when other needs that critically. As for my friend, i am wishing all my best to the motherhood world. It will be with full of surprises , believe me.
